property sitting
Live in care for properties without pets
Pet and Property Sitters also provide a presence in properties without pets when you are away. We are used to caring for larger properties and the special requirements they may have. As part of this service we can offer long term care for empty properties in the case of probate or whilst on the market. This service takes away the pressure of the day to day maintenance of such properties whilst assisting with house viewings and clearance in addition to our normal property sitting service. Although they are not security guards our sitters provide an ongoing 24 hour presence at the property and ensuring:
- Burglars, squatters and vandals are deterred
We provide a full line in service ensuring a continuous presence at the property. Our sitters will make regular inspections of the house, staff quarters, gardens and grounds as required reporting any problems or potential problems so that they can be rectified immediately. In cases where valuable antiques are present 24 hour cover can be arranged. Depending on the condition of the property we can also ensure the area designated for sitters is habitable on your behalf, even organising furniture where required.
- Property is protected against weather damage
When an older property is left empty for a period of time minor weather damage can quickly escalate to major damage! Having a sitter on site means that such problems are dealt with promptly and in many cases averted completely. We can even arrange and supervise repair work for you.
- Rooms remain aired and lived in
As a rule many older properties have issues with damp. We can ensure that the house remains fresh, aired and retains that 'lived in' feel. The house will be fully aired and professionally cared for. This also ensures that the property is much more pleasant when it comes to viewings etc. Simple touches such as a fresh smell and a vase of flowers can make all the difference!
- Grounds are kept secure and are checked throughout the day
Many of the larger properties we care for have fairly extensive grounds which require their own consideration. Sitters will check over the grounds on a daily basis to ensure that everything is as it should be. Seeing people around and about a property is the best way of deterring vandalism, especially when the local teenagers start to explore thinking the property is empty!
- House keeping remains consistent with previous standards
Empty properties can soon become neglected especially when the former house keeping routines end. We will ensure that the property remains at a respectable standard and that antiques are cared for and even stored away if necessary. As part of our service we are also happy to assist with house clearing and the removal of unwanted items respectfully and as per instructions.
- On site management to see if any problems such as heating, electrics, plumbing, pest control, structural damage or leaks
In probate cases the executor or owners of the property may not be in the local area. We can act on your behalf when there are problems. A member of our management team will make regular visits to ensure that all is okay and we will see to any issues that may arise. Bills can be monitored, faults or damage mended and pests dealt with! We have a database of efficient, local suppliers who are on call to assist with any problems.
- Antiques are stored away and properly cared for
Probate cases may leave houses in a state of dis-array. We can work with you to ensure that antiques remain safe and cared for and in some cases stored away. Our sitters will also be on hand to supervise any visitors to the property especially in the case of multiple viewings.
- Visitors are logged, supervised, monitored and restricted where required
No visitors will be admitted to the property without your permission and all visitors will be recorded. In cases of family disputes we can act as a neutral third party and prevent problems with people just letting themselves in. Appointments can be arranged for any inspections, work, house clearance or sale viewings and we will be on hand to keep an eye on things for you.
- Gardens are kept in good order
As a general rule we tend to find that the properties we care for have fairly extensive gardens. Many of our sitters are keen gardeners who are happy to see to a little light gardening and keep things looking nice. Should the gardens require professional care we can source a gardener for you and supervise work as required.
- General day to day property maintenance is over seen
Pet and Property Sitters can offer basic property management services ensuring that day to day property maintenance is over seen. We will keep an eye on heating, fuel supplies, light and monitor fires were required.
- Viewings and house clearance are supervised
Even the most vigilant Estate Agent can struggle to keep an eye on everyone when groups of people are looking around a property. Our sitters can be on hand to assist with this and offer support when required. We will also ensure that the property is ready for viewing; aired, warm, and as welcoming as possible.
- Insurance remains in place at a realistic cost!
Employing live in sitters ensures that household insurance remains in place. Even in cases whereby our sitters are staying in staff accommodation rather than the house itself we can work with you to ensure insurance guidelines are met.
Our property care services are tailored to the specific needs of our clients as we are used to working alongside executors, family members, estate agents and solicitors. Pet and Property Sitters are able to care for properties of any size including the care of larger country houses. Care can be arranged at short notice and ended at short notice as required!
